Sæson 13 fortsætter hvor den forrige sæson sluttede: D.B. Russell leder febrilsk efter sit bortførte barnebarn og Nick overvejer at forlade CSI - og tingene bliver kun endnu mere komplicerede for Russell da han finder ud af at hans søn er hovedmistænkt for mordet på en basketballtræner.
